Hailing from Wilmington, Delaware, United States, Paul Edward Goldschmidt is one of the new additions to the New York Yankees squad in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the 2025 season. Better known as Paul Goldschmidt, he is a fourteen-year veteran in the league, having previously represented the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2011 to 2018 and the St. Louis Cardinals from 2019 to 2024. He made his MLB debut on August 1, 2011, after being originally selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB Draft.

As of 2025, Paul Goldschmidt has played in seven MLB All-Star games and has earned five Diamondbacks MVP awards, two NL Hank Aaron awards, four Rawlings NL Gold Glove awards, and five NL Silver Slugger awards, among others. Besides MLB, he has also represented Team USA during the 2017 and 2023 World Baseball Classic.
